Rock formation in Balaton Uplands National Park

The Hegyestű is a rock formation in the Balaton Uplands, on the eastern edge of the Káli Basin. It is set at 337 m above sea level. Due to the previous basalt mining, it lost its original cone shape, but due to the extraction of raw materials, the internal structure of the mountain was revealed and the basalt stuck in the former volcanic chimney and solidified into columns during cooling became visible.
